ANet's decisions make a lot more sense when you stop recognizing them as a game developer and just look at them as a business.

I think it would just be nice if they actually POSTED here that they still care, at this point that would be (almost) enough for me to think that they still want this game, not for it to disappear. Something more than an automated reply with a bit of actual caring about their first born's 10 year anniversary----

Having said that, ANY of the last updates that they said they were working on prior to that other games release would be nice to see (we KNOW they had gotten into the paragon, ranger and smiter skills before they up and left us dry). Heck even just a post about what actually happened to Evennia and the king would be something (yes, we are that pathetic about wanting closure---this would NOT require ANY thing more than a few written lines on a forum, someone there could do that!).

But all I see the them continuing to ignore our existence or wanting us to go away like a child from a previous marriage.

i doubt GW2 will get a special 10th anniversary either, as this new anet isnt quite as open and caring about both games, the old anet would care about both, i bet

i saw yet another person yesterday from GW2 back into GW

also, people will doubt the new anet cuz they just leave 1 of their still active games, only cuz they made a new one

what if a GW3 would come out? people will doubt that GW2 will live on for long, with active support

new anet, if you really care about your fans and games and your income, better do something with GW slowly, else you'll lose after GW2 dies off

I think the real problem is that most of the employees over at ArenaNet are no longer the original employees that worked on Guild Wars. I know of a few of the original developers that still play this game occasionally and they have confirmed most of the original staff have moved on to new projects. Having heard that, I'm not surprised in the least bit about how neglected Guild Wars is on its 10th anniversary. They don't realize that Guild Wars practically MADE ArenaNet and where it is today, and they shouldn't, because I doubt most of them have never even peeked at this game. That's the problem right there- ignorance is bliss ONLY for the ignorant.

Arkon, I think it was referring to the Hound of Balthazar pet, which can be gained from Ceira, Sworn to Fire, which is shown in the screenshot.

which was last year too, its every year, this time it says "something extra", the hound is old and has been here since the first time they released it, every single year

i hope that IF they ever release the elona's new content, that it wont start as soon as you complete elona, but more like WoC, which makes it start when you get the quests..... but also hope we'll be able to get the normal spawns whenever we dont wanna do the content

ps. this is only IF they ever give it to us
and lets hope its not GW2's expansion..... cuz that has nothing to do with GW

Let's think here, GW2 expantion Heart of Thorns takes place in the Magamu jungle, that's a GW1 location. Maybe they want to draw attention to that and release some related content? I remember the week when Diablo 3 was annouced, Diablo 2 climbed top 10 on xfire most played games that month. People do check back old things when reminded of them.

That would be best case. But if they give you guys anything - really anything, a single quest or area - I'd be happy. Being a relative new player I don't need new content, but it would be nice to boost the playerbase.

Assuming they do even read, it's better off that they don't post, I think. I'd rather have radio silence than be exposed to more of the self-serving rambling that has become their norm.

It would be a different matter if they ever approached forums with some sort of substance to what they say. They would rather host their own space to give themselves license to parade their perceived moral and design excellence over everyone else though.

Is an in-game promotion for a purchasable expansion to the sequel that plays nothing like the game before it really what you want for a 10-year anniversary?

Increased the duration of the Anniversary Celebration to 2 weeks, starting April 22.
(gee hope there is more...)

Made preparations for the Anniversary Celebration.
Updated the models used by the henchmen "Rollo Lowlo" and "Hobba Inaste" in Heroes' Ascent.
Added henchmen usable in Codex Arena.

and I think I would only want the trusted folks who used to post here (Stephane and Gaile, etc) and not the new people....

your guess is as good as mine...none of the anet folks have posted here since...like 2012. Stephane used to post here a bit and Gaile,-- Regina tried to step into the space that Gaile left but never really did and Martin, cant remember a single post he made...would have to see when he was last even logged in here. But yeah, they would be the folks we used to know. Would love to see a post by Gaile again (new one), even miss the mis-information we used to get
